Raised on the family farm in Tuscaloosa County, Wes knows the value of hard work and enjoying the outdoors. He is a life long outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. Wes spent many days honing his hunting skills pursuing squirrels as a youngster as well as fishing in his grandfather's pond trying to catch a lunker. Wes considers his grandfather, Charlie Allen, as the most influential person to introduce him to the outdoors and hunting sports.
Wes has literally pursued all types of game in the state of Alabama, from hunting ducks in West Alabama, competition coon hunting (with good tree dogs) and deer hunting in central Alabama. However, Wes enjoys turkey hunting the best with bass fishing coming in a close second as his favorite outdoor activities.
Today, Wes is instilling his love for the outdoors and emphasizing a strong sense of stewardship of nature to his two young children, Davis and Dee. Wes believes that including our children in the outdoor sports is essential in keeping the traditions and passing on our hunting and fishing heritage.
While in college, Wes was a walk-on wide receiver for Coach Gene Stallings and Mike DuBose. Wes earned two varsity letters at the University of Alabama and graduating in the summer of 1998. Wes was selected as an Academic All-SEC team member for his hard work in the classroom. Wes also earned a post-graduate scholarship to Troy University, where he graduated with his M.S. in 2001.
Wes married Cae Davis of Brent, Alabama. They now reside in Troy where they have two children, Davis and DeeAna. They are active members of the First Baptist Church of Troy, where Wes serves as church clerk and active deacon. Cae serves as a Sunday School teacher for the high school senior girls class.
